Kwanzaa

Kwanzaa is a seven-day celebration of African & African American culture and history. (December 26^th-January 1^st) The name Kwanzaa means fresh fruits in the Swahili language.

We use seven candles for the seven principles of Kwanzaa.

Umoja – Unity

Kujichagulia – Self-Determination

Ujima – Collective work & responsibility

Ujamaa – Cooperative economics

Nia – Purpose

Kuumba – Creativity

Imani- Faith
